The Institute of Leisure Arts is an approximately 7 acre compound in mid-Michigan. The Institute has a 2 bedroom
cabin available for rent during certain times of the year.
The cabin is situated in excellent hunting ground
for white tail deer, small game, coyote and a short distance from excellent fishing lakes. Thousands of acres of the
Manistee National Forest are accessed by walking across the one lane road that provides access to the Institute. The
Institute is approximately 600 meters from the North Country National Scenic Trail and can be accessed by connector trails
through the Manistee National Forest. This section of the NCT allows for mountain bike riding. Also,
a short distance are a network of ORV and Snowmobile trails that will bring the rider across Michigan on an extensive network
of trails.
The cabin offers electrical service, an electric oven and stove, microwave, refrigerator/freezer, coffee
maker, toaster, TV, DVD and VCR. The cabin will comfortably sleep 4-7 adventurers (one double bed, 2 bunks, and a pull
out (double) hide-a-way) and has extra space with a cot. Tent campers can also populate the wooded area near the cabin.
The cabin offers the old fashioned experience of a hand pump well and vault toilet - outhouse.
The area
offers peace and solitude but isn't too far from a full service hospital, groceries, movie theater, various "watering
holes", and a variety of other modern amenities. Although the cabin does not have indoor plumbing; showers, flush
facilities and swimming can be had with a short 5 minute drive to the county campground.
With prices starting at
$350 per week or $50 per night (3 night minimum) - you can relax with the family for much less than a cramped motel room.
Hunting is available on the property during season.
