Section Hike of the North Country Trail
Winter 2009-2010 (ongoing)
Yankee Springs State Park to Mackinaw City

During the Winter of 2003-2004, the team sectioned hiked the North Country Trail from the Ohio/Michigan Boarder
to Highway 10 in mid northern Michigan. This winter as part of a public awareness stunt and conditioning program, the
team plans to hike from Yankee Springs to Mackinaw. Sections will be between 6-15 miles daily. Most southern
sections will be hiked on Saturdays and evenings. Northern Sections will be overnight hikes. Road walks of
the NCT will be included.

Basic Costal Kayaking
Two Classes -

Location: Stoney Lakeside Park - Lowell, Michigan

Are you
a kayaker or do you want to learn more about kayaking? Learn the things you should know about kayaking. Reinforce
everything you already know. Change those bad habits. We even provide the kayak!
Can spending $80 save
your life? It could. The basic costal kayaking class exposes participants to fundamental techniques used by expert
paddlers in the most precarious situations. Whether you are a beginner or an experienced paddler, this course will be
an invaluable resource to your paddling career. Even experienced paddlers have found the course to be effective in helping
hone necessary skills. We have chosen one of the most experienced instructors and expedition paddlers in the Great Lakes
for this course.

Advanced Outdoor Skills Outing
April

Fallasburg
County Park, Lowell State Game Area and the North Country Trail – near Lowell, Michigan

This course
is designed for outdoor enthusiasts that would like to explore expedition and leadership skills. This is a hands
on course. The outing will provide students with hands on application for navigation, ropework, shelter, fire, food,
hiking, and negotiating wilderness obstacles. Graduates from the "Outdoor Skills Workshop" will be able practice
previously introduced skills and learn more advanced skills.
