Expedition Itinerary
Start on Towab Trail on Frater Road Trailhead
Objective Alpha - Agawa Falls
Agawa Falls is an 85 foot waterfall located in Lake Superior
Provincial Park. The Expedition team will
be required to cross the Agawa River by constructing and crossing a two rope
bridge.

Objective Bravo - Kwagama Hill (2050ft)
Rumored to have a great view of Lake Superior which
is about 10 miles away. This will be Basecamp.
Mission Objective - The Lost Bush Plane
An unnamed lake just inside the border of the Lake Superior
Provincial Park is rumored to have submerged pontoons that
may be a bushplane crash site. The purpose is to confirm or dispel the rumor
Objective Charlie - Black Beaver Falls
and the Agawa Canyon Descent
Plans are to descend the Agawa Canyon at Black Beaver Falls
by Rappelling the Falls. The team will spend the night in the
canyon after spending the day exploring the canyon. Other features include
the Agawa Tour Train Park, Bridle Veil Falls, the
Agawa River, and many other features.

Board Train and Ride to Frater, Ontario
The team will ride the Agawa Passenger Trail back
to Frater and Hike back to the vehicle

Summary
The Lost Bush Plane Expedition will be a 4 day
trip on September 11th - 15th 2003.
The Expedition will include more than 21 miles of travel by foot (mileage
approximated):
1. Towab Trail to Agawa Falls (6 miles)
2. Bushwhack to Kwagama Hill (Basecamp)(3 miles)
3. Bushwhack to Expedition Objective (3 miles)
4. Bushwhack back to Basecamp (3 miles)
5. Bushwhack to the Agawa Canyon (6miles)
The expedition will require team members in good physical condition. All members
should
consult with their physician before considering this trip. Members will be
required to pack
and carry all their gear. It is recommended that all members arrange to team
up with a partner
for the trip. Members will also need to certify through a Fortune Bay Expeditionary
Team ropework
course or through a similar course of experience covering ropework, knot tying,
rappelling, ascending,
aid climbing, and demonstrate skills accordingly before embarking on the expedition.

The expedition will also attempt to explore the
canyon area and to find and research local
artifacts, such as abandoned settlements, logging camps, etc.
There is no cost for the trip and participants are responsible for their own needs, activities and well being.
