
Chuck "Pathfinder" Hayden

Chuck Hayden generally serves as expedition Pathfinder, and occasionally as Team Leader. Hayden specializes in land and open water navigation, long range trekking, first aid, rappelling, aided mountain climbing, rescue and evacuation operations. He has been apart of various expeditions and engagements around the world, including South and Central America, Somalia, Eastern Europe and many other countries. Among his crowning activities is serving as the mission leader of the only coast to coast field survey expedition of the Darien Gap in Southern Panama. The expedition took 27 days and covered 342 miles on foot through some of the world's densest jungle and unfriendly territories.
Chuck has logged many hours in the wilderness. He has served in the XVIII Airborne Corps, as an instructor in wilderness skills in North Carolina, a hunting and fishing guide in Northwest Ontario. He has developed solid skills in land navigation, ropework, kayaking and canoeing, hiking and bushwacking.
Chuck lives in Lowell, Michigan with his wife Martha, daughter Charlotte and son Noah.
