Itinerary
Rendevous - Lowell, Michigan
Meet at 7:00 am
Start - Briker Road, Flat River State Game Area
Launch Saturday Morning at 8:00 am.
Portage at Belding Dam
Portage at Whites Bridge Hydro Dam
Set up Camp in Lowell State Game Area
Evening of fun, adventure, and fellowship.
Morning River Rescue Practice
If not too cold
Portage Dam
End Lowell Landing - 17:00 hours Sunday
Summary
This outing is suited for beginners, canoes or kayaks are welcome. Cost is $8 per member. Must be a public member of the Fortune Bay Expeditionary Team to attend. Participants will not have access to their vehicle during the trip, you must carry all your gear. General river rescue techniques may be practiced. Short portages required. Members must bring their own food and water. Canoes and (maybe a few kayaks) will be available to rent ($20 for the week-end) . Contact team leader if you are interested in renting.
