The Fortune Bay Expeditionary Team is a non-profit wilderness exploration group and educational institution. The team is open to everyone of all ages, regardless of skill level or ability. Although some of the activities are reserved for experienced individuals. Many of the activities are suited to all ages and skill levels. In 2001 and 2002 both expeditions were attended by many beginners, in fact, some had no previous experience. Activities are designed to introduce beginners to the sport of expeditions.

All expeditions and activities are organized by members and all are encouraged to participate in expeditions as a team members and leaders.
