Exploration
During the exploration of the area, Pathfinder
stumbles onto one of many bush waterfalls. This one was 300 meters from
the west canyon rim.
Another waterfall in the bush west of the west
canyon rim.
Bush river after the waterfall.
Mooseshed. Picture by Magellan.
The trail to Black Beaver Lake ascends the west
canyon wall. Indigenous personnel have constructed ropes and ladders to
assist hikers.
Red Squirrel, West, and Wapiti discuss important
things.
Team heading down the tracks to the tour train
park. To the right is the Agawa River.
Pathfinder captures Chipmunk, Chappy and Wapiti as they stragle behind the
rest of the group.
The Agawa Tour Train Park has a great lookout. Ascending about 320 stairs
will give you this view of the canyon and park.
Liteweight is about to complete the slightly formidable ascent of the steps
to the lookout.
The Agawa Canyon is remote and the Algoma Central Railway has the task of
servicing the wilderness and park in and around the canyon. Pictured here
is Government and Recondo on the dining car of the Agawa Tour Train. The
train provides wilderness explorers with a restaurant from around 1130 hours
to 1330 hours almost everyday. Passengers do tend to ask a few questions
of explorers who dine on the "fancy" car. Note the rope of Government's
back, pretty cool, eh?
