Journal Entries and Maps are coming soon.
The Agawa Canyon Expedition 2004 was a mapping and exploring expedition in the Agawa Canyon region of Ontario. The area is characteristic of rugged topography and bush. It is an undiscovered gem for the outdoor adventurer.
The Algoma Central Railway provided transportation for the team. The rail company is most famous for its Agawa Canyon Tour Train, but the company offers much more. The Algoma Central Railway is one of the last "flag down" wilderness trains in existance today. The ACR is a unique feature that makes a trip to this area unforgettable. The ACR services hikers, hunters, fishermen, rock and ice climbers, canoers, kayakers, snowmobilers and a wide range of other adventurers. This expedition report intents to include maps of the area, marking trails and other landmarks not included on published maps. Currently, this area offers a wide variety of developed, underdeveloped and overgrown trails. The area is most suitable for the bushwhacker.
The expedition took place August 12-16. Nineteen (19) volunteer explorers participated in the expedition (the highest number ever). Information and reseach is being organized, check back for updates.
